Similarly, voters in the ECFR District overwhelmingly approved the ECFR levy cap increase, which will increase the fire district’s levy rate from $1.08 per $1,000 of APV to $1.50 per $1,000 for levy in 2025. Following the August 7 vote count, the measure to raise the ECFR levy cap passed by a vote of 64.93% (1,346 yes votes) to 35.11% (727 no votes).

Washougal Mayor maintains 650-vote lead over 17th District Republican candidates

In the race for Seat 2 in Washington’s 17th Legislative District, Democratic candidate Terri Niles of Vancouver received enough votes to advance to the Nov. 5 election and will likely face Republican Washougal Mayor David Stuebe in the Nov. 5 general election.

As of Wednesday, August 7, Niles had received 123,330 votes (47.76%), while the two Republican candidates in the race for Position 2 in the 17th District – Stuebe and Carson resident Hannah Joy – are separated by 650 votes after the second vote count.

On Wednesday, Stuebe, who has stated that he would serve as a legislator and mayor of Washougal if elected, was leading with 7,599 votes (27.23%) to Joy’s 6,949 votes (24.9%).

Candidates from Camas fall behind in the race for the 3rd Congressional District

Election results show that two Camas candidates seeking to represent Washington’s 3rd District in Congress – including Camas City Councilman Leslie Lewallen – failed to garner enough support to appear on the November general election ballot.
