Fuel prices fell in Newfoundland and Labrador for the second week in a row.

The Public Utilities Board on Thursday cut the maximum price of gasoline by 1.8 cents per liter, bringing the price retailers on the Avalon Peninsula can charge down to $1.783 per liter.

In the rest of the province, prices vary by location, ranging from $1.78 to $1.95 per litre throughout Newfoundland and from $1.64 to $2.20 per litre throughout Labrador.

Diesel prices fell by 2.1 cents per litre in Labrador West and Churchill Falls and by 2.3 cents in the rest of the province. The maximum price is now between $1.80 and $1.92 per litre in Newfoundland and between $1.92 and $2.59 per litre in Labrador.

Heating oil became cheaper by 1.98 cents per liter. Customers in Newfoundland now pay a maximum of between $1.15 and $1.33 per liter, depending on location.

The peak price for heating oil fell by the same amount, except in Labrador West and Churchill Falls, where it fell by 1.79 cents per litre. Peak prices are now between $1.20 and $1.38 per litre in Newfoundland and between $1.28 and $1.94 per litre in Labrador.

The price of propane fell by one cent per litre. Across Newfoundland, prices for the fuel now range from 96 cents to $1.09 per litre, and in Labrador, from 82 cents to $1.17 per litre.
