Public hearing scheduled on Monument Sales expansion into Airport Business Park

Public hearing scheduled on Monument Sales expansion into Airport Business Park

(KNSI) – Residents will have the opportunity to voice their opinions before the St. Cloud Zoning Board of Appeals votes on whether to grant a stone masonry company permission to relocate to the Airport Business Park.

Monument Sales Incorporated is applying for a conditional building permit for its stone masonry business at 401 Electron Drive and 485 Electron Drive. The property was recently rezoned from Industrial Zone 3 to I1, but the company still needs a special permit to operate there.

MIS is looking to move from 537 22nd Avenue North to the property to expand. Plans include reusing the 10,000-square-foot former Bever Island Brewing cannery, building a new 10,500-square-foot office, adding a 15,000-square-foot production center, a 13,000-square-foot addition and a 25,000-square-foot warehouse building.

St. Cloud staff recommends giving the project the green light as long as parking and storage requirements are met, stormwater retention basins are built and exterior lighting is installed.

The Zoning Planning Appeals Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed CUP on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
