Doha: To mark the new school year, Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail), in collaboration with a group of leading school supply suppliers in Qatar, launched the “Back to School” event at Sport City Station in Doha Metro from August 25 to September 3, 2024.

The event is part of the “Metro Events” series that the company organizes for the public in subway stations throughout the year.

This initiative is part of the company’s long-term strategic plan to transform subway stations into destinations and vibrant communities through active public engagement. Held at the Sport City Station on the subway’s Gold Line, the Back to School event runs daily from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and offers the public and customers the opportunity to discover exclusive offers from bookstores and retailers specializing in school supplies as the new school year approaches.

Several retail spaces at Sport City Station have been allocated to well-known bookstores so that they can display their various promotional products alongside other retailers selling school supplies and related items.

The public can easily access the event via the three metro lines by going to Sport City Station on the Gold Line or directly through the station entrance next to the parking facilities surrounding the Khalifa International Stadium.

During the event, several activities will be held for the public, which can be followed along with event updates on Qatar Rail’s social media channels. Activities for children will be held in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government’s Panda House and KidZMondo Doha.

Qatar Rail launched the “Metro Events” series in 2023 with the titles “Sport? This Way!” and “Journey to Health”. In addition, numerous successful events were organized within the metro network as part of this series.
