Queen Camilla made a rare comment on King Charles’ cancer prognosis

Queen Camilla made a rare comment on King Charles’ cancer prognosis

On Wednesday, Queen Camilla traveled to Bath, England, where she opened a new cancer center – and provided an update on the health of King Charles III, who announced an unspecified cancer diagnosis in February. For her return to work after a several-week holiday in Scotland, the Queen visited the brand new Dyson Cancer Center at the Royal United Hospital. According to the Mirror, Suzy Moon of the Macmillan Partnership-sponsored wellness centre at the centre asked if the King was “okay”. In response, the Queen said: “Yes, he is very well.”

The Queen toured the new centre, which includes a 22-bed ward, areas for outpatient chemotherapy and radiotherapy services, a specialist pharmacy and a research centre, and spoke to current and former patients about their experiences. After unveiling a brand new plaque, she made a few words of thanks to the hospital for inviting her to visit.

“I’ve only done a quick tour, but everyone I’ve met – patients, families, nursing staff and helpers – seems to be really excited. It’s a really nice atmosphere and you can see that it’s really lifting people’s spirits at a difficult time,” she said. “I think a lot of other cities could do the same and should come and see it. It’s really special.”

Since King Charles officially returned to public duty in April, the couple have spoken little about his health. During a visit to Southport in August, where he visited victims of the knife attack that killed three children, Charles spoke to a well-wisher who asked him about his cancer. “I’m not too bad,” the King replied. Last month, a royal insider told The sun that Charles was excited to go back to work as soon as he got the okay from the doctors.

“It wasn’t like he was completely finished and we’re not completely out of the woods yet as treatment is ongoing,” the insider said. “The treatment has gone better than anyone could have imagined even in their most optimistic moments.”
