A store in south Sioux Falls that sells prepared meals and desserts has new owners.

Sara and Shea Geelan, who live near Lennox, bought Sioux Falls Chef from Ellen Doerr. They also own Dialed In Nutrition, another prepared meal service.

Doerr began offering her services as a private chef in 2018 and opened her own business in 2020. The location at 2210 W. 69th St., next to 22Ten Kitchen Cocktails, includes an open kitchen where she and her staff prepared takeout meals. She also occasionally offered cooking classes and private dinners there.

Doerr said she sold the business because she wanted to get back to working with food rather than running a company. She worked full-time as a culinary specialist in research and development for OLM Food Solutions, and her staff ran Sioux Falls Chef largely without her help.

Sioux Falls Chef closed Wednesday and will reopen as DINE on Monday.

“While we build our website, we will only be offering takeaway in-store for the next few weeks – no online ordering,” said Sara Geelan.

These dishes include the Sioux Falls chef’s favorites. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Gift cards are still accepted.

Geelan said the couple will announce more information about DINE in the coming weeks as plans become more concrete.

They founded Dialed In Nutrition in 2018 after struggling to provide their busy family with healthy meals every day. They partnered with area businesses to allow customers to pick up online orders or purchase a meal from a refrigerated takeout counter. The company has expanded its business to include providing meals to daycare centers.

Dialed In Nutrition will continue to operate as an independent business and will operate a commercial kitchen in Lennox built by the Geelans.
