This rendering shows what the Chick-fil-A restaurant in Fort Dodge will look like. Construction has begun on the restaurant, which will be located near the intersection of First Avenue South and 29th Street.

Construction has begun on a new Chick-fil-A restaurant in Corridor Plaza.

A fence was recently erected around the site of the future restaurant on the southwest side of the intersection of 29th Street and First Avenue South. Inside the fence, large machines rumble around, performing the excavation work that is always the first phase of a construction project.

According to an announcement from Chick-fil-A Inc., the new restaurant is scheduled to open in early 2025.

It will be just over 420 square meters in size and will accommodate 82 people.

There will be an outdoor seating area and a playground.

The restaurant has a multi-lane drive-in.

According to Chick-fil-A, each of its restaurants creates 80 to 120 jobs in the community.

The construction of Chick-fil-A is the latest step in a period of strong activity at Corridor Plaza.

The former Younkers wing of Crossroads Mall is being renovated to house Dunham’s Sporting Goods, Maurice’s and Shoe Sensation. All three stores are expected to be open for this year’s holiday shopping season.

On the west side of the complex, the steel framework of a large sports pavilion has been erected. The 200-by-250-foot building will house four basketball courts, three pickleball courts and a microbrewery restaurant. It will be owned and operated by M & M LLC of Ankeny.

In addition, work is being done on parking lots and roads within the Corridor Plaza.

UnityPoint Express Care, Discount Tire, Teriyaki Madness, Clean Laundry, T-Mobile and Tidal Wave Auto Spa are already located in Corridor Plaza.
