Restaurant review: Brunch House is in the house

Restaurant review: Brunch House is in the house

When you hear about a theme restaurant, it’s either really bad or really good. I’m happy to report that Brunch House is the latter, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well this concept worked. Brunch House brought all the good brunch things!

We were greeted by a friendly and punctual host who quickly showed us to our table. Our server attended to our every need and took our drink order as soon as we were seated. We ordered a couple of espresso martinis, a breakfast-style margarita, and a twist on an Old-Fashioned. I was thrilled that the preparation of our drinks rivaled that of any top cocktail bar.

We started our meal with the giant cinnamon roll, which was probably one of the best cinnamon rolls I’ve ever had. It was hot, juicy, and drizzled with just the right amount of cream cheese frosting. The sweetness, spice of the cinnamon, and buttery richness of the roll melted together as if it was all meant to be together. For the second course, we ordered the biscuits and gravy for the table. The biscuits were fresh and homemade, topped with black pepper, sausage gravy, and two eggs cooked to order. The Benedict was well prepared and traditional in its execution. The farmhouse style scramble was well done, the scrambled eggs were fluffy and not too firm. We also ordered the Beach Side Smashburger, which consisted of two crispy fried burger patties and a hot bun, topped with Sriracha goat cheese that went well with the pineapple and bacon.

We finished our meal with some Bloody Marys after noticing the bartender making huge mixed drinks with crispy chicken pieces, crunchy bacon, soft and smooth deviled eggs, and sweet Belgian waffles that emerged from the Tajin and salt-coated rims of the glasses like floating skewers of decadent deliciousness. One of us ordered the Chicken and Waffle Bloody Mary, while the other two opted for the Deviled Eggs and Bacon Bloody Mary. The presentation was stunning—almost as good as they tasted. Don’t miss these on your next visit if you can. They’re served with or without alcohol.

My overall experience at Brunch House was fantastic. The ambiance was hip and had a cool vibe. Everyone working there was extremely friendly and the service was spot on. Not only was the food beautifully presented, but it had great flavor and was inventive in keeping it fresh and new. The cocktail, mocktail, and drink offerings were great, with a range of drinks to suit every taste. I know we will be back with excitement!
