One of the many complaints of Fall River residents is that there are too many restaurants offering similar dishes. A new restaurant in Scholarship City will try to stand out from the crowd.

KUN Kabob and Curry, represented by Rashid Azeem, applied to the Fall River Board of Licensing on Wednesday for a restaurant license for its fast-food restaurant at 1050 Bedford Street, the former JC’s Café that closed last year.

KUN Kabob and Curry describes themselves as a culinary fusion of Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine.

The restaurant currently has a branch at 233 W. Center Street in West Bridgewater, which has been open for almost a year.

The KUN Fall River location is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. and closed on Mondays.

The owner received the requested license and told the Fall River Reporter that the future restaurant is still under construction but will be open within a month at the latest.
