HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation informs airport users that the interior roadway in front of Terminal 2 between baggage claims 16 and 29 at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) will be closed nightly from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. starting Monday, August 19, through Tuesday, August 27, for repaving work.

During the repaving, all passengers receiving curbside pickup between baggage claim lanes 16 and 31 after 9:30 p.m. will be diverted to the Diamond Head Group Tour area. Arriving international passengers will be directed to the International Group Tour area for pickup (see map below).

The outer carriageway will remain open for through traffic and vehicles on the inner carriageway will be diverted across the central reservation starting at the group pick-up area for international arrivals (see photo below).

Display boards will be posted to alert motorists of the lane closure and passenger pick-up location, and signs will be posted throughout the baggage claim area to direct passengers to the Diamond Head Group Tour area.

This work had originally begun on July 29, but was halted on August 1 after a hole was discovered and workers were working to repair the road’s substructure, which had been undermined by water from a broken pipe.
