REWE To Go opens third Smart Store in hospital

The store offers a range of around 300 products, including coffee, snacks, ice cream, drinks and a small selection of drugstore items.

Lekkerland has opened its third REWE To Go Smart Store in the Groß-Gerau district hospital in Hesse. The new 30 square meter store offers round-the-clock service for hospital staff, patients and visitors. The range includes around 300 products, including coffee, snacks, ice cream, drinks and a small selection of drugstore items. The store operates with a cashless self-checkout system.

REWE To Go, a brand known for its convenience-oriented gas station stores, is expanding its presence in semi-public spaces such as hospitals and office buildings. These smart stores are part of a broader trend in retail. The smart kiosk concept is one of five innovative store solutions from Lekkerland, a subsidiary of the REWE Group that specializes in convenience retail.

This is another step in REWE’s ongoing strategy to integrate modern retail solutions at locations where convenience is the focus.

REWE, founded in 1927, is one of the largest food retail groups in Germany with a diverse portfolio that includes supermarkets, convenience stores and petrol stations.
