Richard Goodall sings “Eye of the Tiger” in the semi-finals of “America’s Got Talent”

Richard Goodall is once again hoping for a chance to win a million dollars on “America’s Got Talent.”

Due to Tuesday night’s presidential debate, this week’s semifinals aired on Wednesday, with results airing Thursday beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

So far, Goodall has sung stunning covers of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin'” and Michael Bolton’s “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You,” won a Golden Buzzer in his audition and won his fans’ votes in the quarterfinals.

How did Richard Goodall perform in the semifinals of season 19 of America’s Got Talent?

Goodall sang a rousing cover of Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger,” which is known as the theme song from the 1982 film “Rocky III.”

When asked in a pre-recorded segment why he chose the song, Goodall said, “I’m just going to fight for it. I have this chance. I’m like Rocky – I’m going to try.”

What did the AGT judges say about Richard Goodall?

Klum, who awarded Goodall a Golden Buzzer just a few months ago, was overwhelmed by Goodall’s “epic performance” – so much so that she kept shouting “How excited are you?!” to her fellow judges as they gave her feedback.

Judge Simon Cowell referred to the cult film with which the song is now synonymous and compared Goodall’s performance to the title character’s triumphant moment.

“You picked a real underdog song, and in some ways you are an underdog – but in a really positive way,” Cowell said. “It was like you had just come up the stairs.”

“You have the biggest heart in this whole competition,” said judge Howie Mandel. “You feel the love and we love you.”

How do the AGT live shows work?

With the four weeks of quarter finals now over, the semi finals will decide who moves on to the final two shows. During the semi finals, 12 acts will compete for six spots, with the finalists being decided by fan votes. These six acts will move on and compete with the Live Golden Buzzer winners in the final rounds of the show.
