Riot Fest 2024 announces last-minute return to Douglass Park

Riot Fest 2024 announces last-minute return to Douglass Park

Chicago’s Riot Fest is changing course and deciding to return to its longtime home at Douglass Park, just months after announcing plans to move to SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois, and just weeks before this year’s festivities are set to begin.

Riot Fest originally announced its move to Bridgeview after festival organizers were unable to reach an agreement with the Chicago Park District. However, the move to Bridgeview was met with mixed reactions from fans, as the festival is far from downtown Chicago and has limited public transportation access.

In justifying its decision to return to Douglass Park, Riot Fest cited the “overwhelming support” the festival has received from “the city of Chicago and our fans.”

The Chicago Park District said in its own statement that Riot Fest was being brought back “due to community demand” after the two sides were able to “come together with a renewed commitment to cooperation and engagement.”

To coincide with the announcement of the location change, Riot Fest is offering 20% off tickets to anyone who refers a friend. Additionally, anyone who previously returned a ticket after the announcement that Riot Fest was moving to Bridgeview can purchase tickets to Riot Fest at early bird pricing. Parking passes will be automatically refunded. For more details, visit the festival website.

The Riot Fest will take place from September 20th to 22nd. The line-up includes Fall Out Boy, Slayer, Pavement, Beck, Rob Zombie, Sublime, Public Enemy and The Offspring (with Smash), St. Vincent and Bright Eyes are the frontrunners.
