Russia could become China’s largest natural gas exporter, says Prime Minister

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said Russia would become China’s largest natural gas exporter in the near future.

At the 29th regular meeting of the governments of Russia and China, Mishustin stressed the strengthening of the energy partnership between the two countries, News.Az reports, citing Russian media.

He pointed out that Russia is already a leading oil exporter to China and is expected to soon take the lead in natural gas exports as well.

Mishustin also mentioned that coal supplies between the two countries are stable and that joint initiatives in the field of peaceful nuclear energy are underway. There are talks about new large-scale projects in this area.

With regard to broader cooperation, Mishustin pointed to progress in industries such as aircraft and automobile manufacturing, mining, gas chemistry and the metal industry.

“We plan to expand exchanges in science-based areas such as space, end-to-end technologies and artificial intelligence. By combining Russia’s rich scientific potential and China’s production and technological capabilities, we will achieve great results,” the Russian Prime Minister added.
