Ryan Seacrest And Vanna White appear to be the thinnest co-hosts in television history, and it is disturbing for people close to the Wheel of Fortune stars.
In fact, sources only report Closer that some are convinced that there is some kind of bizarre, razor-thin competition between 49-year-old Ryan and 67-year-old Vanna.
“It’s uncomfortable to watch these two co-hosts so thin and almost emaciated, drawing a lot of alarmed looks,” says an insider. “She’s like a lollipop stick and he’s known for his manorexia. They’re both obviously obsessed with staying as thin as possible.”
In addition to the former Wheel of Fortune host Pat SajakVanna, who is 5’6″ tall, has always looked petite. But at 5’8″ “Ryan is also petite and makes her feel tall,” the source points out. “So she overcompensates by going on drastic diets.”
But according to CloserAn insider from “Ryan is even more fixated on the scale.”
Regardless, “it seems like they’re fighting a losing battle here,” the insider adds. “People around them wish they would stop the disastrous diet and eat something more substantial.”
Weight isn’t the only thing that concerns Ryan and Vanna. Earlier this month, another source shared Closer Vanna wanted to turn back time with some plastic surgery now that she will be appearing on television alongside Ryan.
“Now that she’s dating someone who has the fountain of youth, Vanna is more conscious of her own appearance. Anyone would tell her she looks great, but there are clearly lines and wrinkles that bother her more than ever, especially since Ryan came on board as a host,” the insider said.
“Everyone assumes she’s had some plastic surgery here and there. She likes to downplay it, but now that Ryan is standing next to her, she’s putting even more pressure on herself,” the show insider added.
It was also reported that American Idol The presenter underwent cosmetic surgery this year to make himself camera-ready for his new appearance.
“He can’t stand getting old on camera and fights against it with all his might,” the source said. “He’s a huge fan of Botox and fillers, and while some people think it’s over the top, he’s very happy with how he looks and that attitude definitely rubs off on Vanna.”
Ryan made his long-awaited Wheel of Fortune Debuting during the first episode of season 42 on September 9, Vanna was by his side to usher in a new era of the show after former host Pat announced his retirement.
Ryan wore a black suit, while Vanna looked stunning in a blue one-shoulder dress. “I still can’t believe my luck to be here with you tonight and to continue the legacy of this incredible show with all of you,” he told viewers.
During the opening, Ryan talked about watching the show as a kid in Georgia and admitted that he “has very big shoes to fill.”
Before Ryan took the stage, he gave several behind-the-scenes glimpses. “It’s like renovating your house after 40 years,” Vanna said before her first recording with Ryan. “It still feels like home, but it’s just a little bit modernized.”
