Sales of Linkin Park’s second album increase by 372%

Sales of Linkin Park’s second album increase by 372%

Last year, Linkin Park celebrated the twentieth anniversary of the release of their second album MeteoraThe band released a special edition of the title, which included some special extras and previously unreleased tunes, and it again became a bestseller.

More than a year later, Linkin Park is not finished with the tribute MeteoraIn July, the rockers released a new vinyl edition of the project and fans bought the set in large numbers. All these purchases help the album return to a number of Billboard charts, thanks to a massive increase in sales.

In the last tracking week Meteora According to Luminate, just under 3,200 copies were sold, enough to bring Linkin Park’s bestseller back into the Top Album Sales charts, where it landed at number 38 for the period. This number is significantly higher than the same period last year, when the same title was purchased by fewer than 700 people in the US.

From one image to the next, Linkin Park’s second album saw a 372% increase in sales. Such an achievement is always remarkable, but considering how long Meteora is available – and considering that many of the band’s fans have already purchased a new copy in the last year – this number is particularly impressive.

All these vinyl purchases help Meteora back to seven different Billboard charts this week. Of course, it reappears on the vinyl albums chart, where it lands at number 15. It has now spent only three non-consecutive stays anywhere on that ranking.

The success of the title in this format is also reflected in a placement in several other rankings. Meteora makes it into the top 10 of this week’s Top Alternative Albums (#8) and Top Hard Rock Albums (#4). It performs almost equally well in both the Top Rock Albums (#16) and the Top Rock & Alternative Albums (#20).

Looking at total consumption, Meteora sold 13,500 units across America last week. This is also a significant increase from the previous period, and sales figures have played a large role in increasing this number. On the Billboard 200, Linkin Park’s second album reappears at number 74.
