TUCSON, Arizona (13 News) – Get ready to ride for a good cause.

The Salvation Amy Tucson stopped by the 13 News studio on Thursday, September 19th to talk about this weekend’s El Tour Loop de Loop.

On Saturday, September 21st, the Pima County El Tour Loop de Loop will provide driving fun on the Chuck Huckelberry Loop.

The event benefits more than 60 nonprofit partners involved in El Tour de Tucson and is the official kickoff of one of the country’s premier cycling events on November 23rd.

El Tour Loop de Loop offers cyclists the opportunity to choose the nonprofit they want to ride for, search for new cycling partners and plan training rides. The Salvation Army in Tucson is hoping to get sign-ups at their booth this morning to get bikes, helmets and locks for needy children in Tucson to hand out at their Christmas toy distribution in December.

“It is a blessing that El Tour de Tucson allows nonprofits to raise money for their respective organizations,” said Major Andres Espinoza. “I am very pleased that The Salvation Army Tucson has been chosen as one of these nonprofits and I hope that many of the over 9,000 cyclists will choose to ride for us and our cause.”

The main attraction is located along the Loop by Rillito Park, just southeast of the racetrack near the pavilions at 4502 N. 1st Ave.

All activities will take place there from 7am to 12pm, and live music, food, drinks and amazing prize draws will begin at 10am. FREE raffle tickets will be available at all booths along the Loop.
