‘Saturday Night Live’ Season 50 Cast Announced: See Who’s Joining

NEW YORK – Three new comedians will join the cast of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” this fall.

Up-and-coming comedians Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim and Jane Wickline will guest star, the network announced Tuesday. The new season of “SNL” is scheduled to premiere on September 28.

Chloe Troast, who joined “SNL” last year, announced in an Instagram post that she will not be returning to the show.

“Unfortunately, I was not invited back to ‘SNL’ this season,” wrote the 27-year-old. “I wish I could return to all the great friends I met there. It really felt like home. But that wasn’t a given.”

Padilla, like other “SNL” alumnae including Will Ferrell and Maya Rudolph, previously performed at the Groundlings, an improvisational and sketch comedy theater in Los Angeles. She also appeared on HBO’s “Drop It, Larry!” and the NBC revival of “Night Court.”

Wakim, a Lebanese-American comedian, made his late-night comedy debut in 2022 when he appeared on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” That same year, he was named the “New Face of Comedy” at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal.

Wickline has nearly a million followers on TikTok and performs in a live comedy show called “Stapleview” on the social media platform.

With these new additions, Marcello Hernandez, Michael Longfellow and Devon Walker, who were supporting actors for two years, are promoted to the main cast.

Punkie Johnson, who was hired in 2020, and Cleveland native Molly Kearney, who joined the show as its first nonbinary cast member in 2022, are also leaving the show.

“My time on SNL is over,” Kearney posted on Instagram. “When I think back to the incredible two seasons I had on that show, it was like a dream come true. I am so incredibly grateful for that time in my life.”

“So much love to all my generous friends behind the scenes who make the magic happen every week.”

“Saturday Night Live” returns to NBC on September 28.
