SBU uses double agents to arrest high-ranking GRU agent in Kyiv

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported the arrest of a high-ranking agent of the Main Intelligence Service of the Russian Armed Forces (GRU) by its own double agent.

A Russian agent was setting up an intelligence cell in Kyiv whose main task would be to set fire to vehicles of the Ukrainian armed forces in order to cause social and political destabilization.

A man who had himself been caught by the SBU in the preparation of arson agreed to help document the subversive activities of the Russian intelligence officer.

She recruited and coordinated the arsonists and helped them organize further subversive activities in Kyiv. The woman gave instructions on how to make homemade detonators to destroy military vehicles.

She had agreed to film the arson attack by the SBU double agent and was caught red-handed.

The GRU officer was recruited by Russian military intelligence at the beginning of a full-scale war while living in the town of Tokmak in Zaporizhia, and then moved to the capital.

There, her Russian intelligence officer, who promised her funds that she never received, kept in touch remotely.

She is accused of high treason under martial law, for which she faces a life sentence in prison with confiscation of her property.
