Seahawks CB Tre Brown wants to be “the best” in fourth year

Seahawks CB Tre Brown wants to be “the best” in fourth year

The entire defense is growing and improving every day. Brown says, “There are a lot of calls where we’re all playing things that we’ve never played in our careers, and we’re still learning those things. That gives the defense a lot of versatility because you have a guy that can actually do that with the skills that we all have. We just have to go out there and execute those things and follow through. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun because it’s going to confuse the offenses and they’re not really sure what’s coming. We can all make those types of plays depending on where we’re on the field.”

He also added about the defense communicating with each other: “I think we still have a lot of work to do, which is a good thing, but we’re already getting impatient. Communication is a big thing, especially with all the things that are coming at us and we have to go out there and take care of them because we have a lot of different checks compared to what the offense is showing us. Communication is very important in this defense.”

But in addition to continuing to learn, improve and grow together, Brown has also watched the defense as a whole buy into the team that head coach Mike Macdonald is building.

“It took a lot of grit … A lot of guys wanted to understand the defense and go out there and do their best and just execute the plan that Mike has for us.”

Personally, he believes he will see the biggest improvement in his day-to-day performance this season. “Just being more consistent. Taking one game at a time and, like I said, just watching it all come together at the end and not worrying about little things that I can’t control.”
