Sean Wotherspoon has unveiled his latest Porsche project, a one-of-a-kind Porsche 911 Dakar created in close collaboration with Ferdinand “Ferry” Ahorner, a member of Porsche’s founding family. Particularly notable is the car’s paintwork in Nashy Blue, one of Wotherspoon’s two official PTS colors announced in late May.

The color comes from a previous collaboration with Porsche, where Wotherspoon created four unique color combinations named after himself, his wife and children. Now two of those colors, “Sean Peach” (22I) and “Nashy Blue” (5NY), are available as official PTS colors for customer use. While we’re yet to see a Sean Peach roll out of the factory, there couldn’t have been a better first model for Nashy Blue to make its official debut than the 911 Dakar.

Speaking to Hypebeast, Wotherspoon shared more about the project: “The process was really fun, we worked with the Porsche Exclusive Manufacturer in Weissach. It’s especially cool because Ferry has special capabilities to change things on the car that Porsche doesn’t normally let you touch – like custom colored brake pads and more. We had so much fun going through every detail together. For me, this is a big moment because it’s the first Nashy Blue Porsche to hit the road. It’s like the three-way bet, it’s Dakar, it’s Ferdinand’s and it’s Nashy Blue.”

Ahorner told Hypebeast that the collaboration came about through meeting Wotherspoon at the FAT Ice Race in late January. A huge sneaker fan and collector of Wotherspoon shoes since his late teens, Ahorner says now feels like a surreal, full-circle moment.

“At the event, Sean’s Taycan was on display in all four of his signature colors and I was in the middle of specifying my dad’s Dakar. I put two and two together and contacted Sean and to my surprise, he was more than happy to help me with the specification! Sean is one of the most genuine, friendly and open people I have ever met. Even better, we continue to work together on other projects and he has become a mentor to me – something I never imagined,” he said.

He mentioned some special details of the Dakar, explaining that they have added unique touches such as chrome window surrounds and that almost every possible detail is painted in Nashy Blue. The interior further complements the specification with a Crayon finish and Sally Pepita – a unique color of the one-of-a-kind Sally Special.

As the Nashy blue Porsche 911 Dakar prepares to hit the road, Wotherspoon and his son Nash are expected in Austria soon to celebrate the occasion.
