Second doubter from Burr Ridge makes a mistake in the restaurant

BURR RIDGE, IL – Six months ago, a local resident took to social media to express doubts that a Burr Ridge restaurant would survive another six months.

He was wrong – the company is still in business.

The restaurant in question is Pella Signature, 720 Village Center Drive.

The opening took place one year ago on Thursday, August 29, 2023.

When Patch wrote a story leading up to Pella’s opening, a reader commented that Pella would not last more than six months.

Patch promised the anonymous commenter that he would check in six months to see if the restaurant was still open.

On February 29, Patch wrote an article about the restaurant’s six-month milestone. Another reader responded, “I would be shocked if this restaurant lasted another six months.”

Still, Pella continues to post about happenings at its restaurant on its Facebook page. Last week, photos of a local insurance agency training at Pella appeared on the page.

On August 20, the restaurant posted a photo of its employees.

“Here’s the crew that brings your dining experience to life!” Pella said in the post. “From preparing your favorite dishes to making sure every detail is just right, our team is committed to serving you the best.”

Pella isn’t the only restaurant Patch has been keeping an eye on in response to its readers’ dire predictions.

Patch followed the same procedure last year when a commenter said a new restaurant in Elmhurst, Krafted Burger Bar + Tap, would be gone in six months at the latest. The reader later deleted the comment.

Krafted has now been around for over a year and a half, proving the reader wrong.

Before opening, Pella was touted as Burr Ridge’s largest restaurant. On its website, Pella describes itself as a place “where culinary artistry meets Mediterranean mastery.”
