Jason Momoa and Jack Black take cinemagoers into the world of Minecraft.

On September 4, Warner Bros. Pictures released the first teaser trailer for A Minecraft moviein which 45-year-old Momoa stars as a man who is mysteriously transported into the world of the popular video game series along with his co-stars Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks and Sebastian Eugene Hansen.

The teaser shows the Beatles tour “Magical Mystery Tour” Minecraftthe typical building blocks, monsters and villains – as well as Black’s character, who, much to the chagrin of the other character, simply introduces himself to the group as Steve.

“This guy is such an idiot,” says Myers’ character Natalie in the trailer.

Jennifer Coolidge is also said to appear in the film, but she cannot be seen in the trailer.

“Four outsiders – Garrett ‘The Garbage Man’ Garrison, Henry (Hansen), Natalie (Myers) and Dawn (Brooks) – are struggling with everyday problems when they are suddenly drawn through a mysterious portal into the upper world: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination,” says a synopsis.

“To get back home, they must master this world (and also protect it from evil things like piglins and zombies) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, skilled craftsman, Steve (Black).”

“Their adventure together will challenge all five to be brave and rediscover the qualities that make each of them so uniquely creative… the very skills they need to succeed in the real world again,” the synopsis says.

Black, 55, initially confirmed that he would star in the adaptation of Minecraft in January when he shared a photo of himself reading Minecraft Basics for Dummies on Instagram. Black recently starred in the video game adaptations Borderland and 2023 The Super Mario Bros. Movieand he has been exploring the gaming world for the past “Jumanji” Movies.

A Minecraft movie Directed by Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite, Nacho Libre). It’s always sunny in PhiladelphiaRob McElhenney is named as one of the screenwriters of the film.

A Minecraft movie will be in cinemas on April 4th.
