Sesame Place San Diego, the only West Coast theme park based entirely on the award-winning television series “Sesame Street,” announced this week the launch of its American Sign Language programming.

Beginning August 17, the Chula Vista theme park will offer a certified ASL interpreter stationed throughout the park at select presentations on the third Saturday of every month. The program is designed to ensure that guests who are deaf or hard of hearing can fully enjoy interactive shows and activities featuring Sesame Street’s favorite furry friends.

In addition, Sesame Place offers free ASL interpreters daily upon prior request and provides scripts for select presentations.

The new program is part of Sesame Place’s goal to be inclusive of its guests and their needs. The theme park is certified as a certified autism center, meaning it offers extensive training for staff and on-site accommodations such as quiet rooms to ensure every guest, including those with sensory sensitivities, can fully enjoy the park.

For a limited time, children with an adult ticket can enter the park free, and season passes are available at up to 25% off.
