Last month, Samsung unveiled its latest foldable smartphones called Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Shortly after, the company announced an exclusive Olympic Edition of the foldable clamshell model. The brand distributed up to 17,000 copies of the special edition to the athletes. Now that the 2024 Olympic Games are coming to an end, many Galaxy Z Flip 6 Olympic Edition devices are for sale on eBay.

Galaxy Z Flip 6 Olympic Edition devices have bids of over $2,000 on eBay

A quick search on eBay shows that many of the Z Flip 6 Olympic Edition units have never been opened. Several of these units have seen bids of over $2,000. That’s way too much than the standard Galaxy Z Flip 6, which has a starting price of $1,099. Notably, some of these special Olympic Edition units have a “Buy It Now” price tag of a whopping $5,000 to $10,000.

Since Samsung has given away 17,000 Z Flip 6 Olympic Editions, it’s not surprising that some of them have found their way to eBay. Most listings of the device on eBay are priced at $1,500 or more. One of these auctions went for $940, but with many days left to bid, the final price will be significantly higher.

What do you get with the Olympic Edition of Samsung’s foldable phone?

As you probably know, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 Olympic Edition is not available for general sale, so if you still want one of these special devices, you will have to find other ways. If you want it, you can bid on one of the listings on eBay. With the special edition, users will get a unique yellow colorway and an exclusive Flipsuit leather case.

The Olympic Edition also comes with a free eSIM with 100GB of 5G data. There are also some Olympic-themed apps on the device. Samsung also includes an unlimited public transport card with the device, but this is only useful if you live in Paris.

With the Olympics coming to an end in 2024, we don’t think the free transportation card will be of any use. Still, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is an expensive souvenir for this year’s Olympics if you purchase it on eBay.
