Munich / Perlach / Nymphenburg / Großhadern – Due to construction work, several recycling centers in Munich will have to be temporarily closed in the next few weeks. Three locations are affected, another is already unavailable and will be unavailable for a longer period of time. The Munich Waste Management Company (AWM) reveals the duration of the respective construction measures and closures – and provides alternative options for residents.

Construction work: Several recycling centers in Munich temporarily closed – Affected locations and alternative options

The first temporary closure will affect the recycling center at Bayerwaldstrasse 33 in Perlach. According to AWM, this will not be available to residents from Monday, September 2nd, to Friday, September 20th. The yards at Mauerseglerstrasse 9 (Trudering), Thalkirchner Strasse 260 (Thalkirchen) and Savitsstrasse 79 (Engelschalking) are mentioned as alternative locations.

The construction work in Perlach will overlap with that in Nymphenburg for a few days. According to AWM, the recycling center at Arnulfstrasse 290 will be closed from Monday, September 16th, to Friday, September 27th. During this time, residents will have to avoid the locations at Tübinger Strasse 13 (Sendling-Westpark) and Mühlangerstrasse 100 (Langwied).

From the end of September, work will begin at the recycling center at Tischlerstrasse 3 in Großhadern. It will be closed from Monday, September 30th, to Friday, October 11th. According to AWM, the locations at Tübinger Strasse 13 (Sendling-Westpark) and Thalkirchner Strasse 260 (Thalkirchen) will serve as alternative centers.

“The AWM regrets any inconvenience this may cause for the people of Munich and is trying to keep the closing times as short as possible,” the waste management company said of the measures. If you have any questions, the AWM information center is available on 23 39 62 00. Further information can also be found on the homepage. There is also information about another closed location: Due to major renovation and reconstruction work, the recycling center on Truderinger Strasse in Steinhausen is closed until the second quarter of 2025.
