They say good things come in pairs, and that’s true for the city of Taylor with the announcement that not just one Mid-Atlantic restaurant and convenience store will be coming to the area, but two.
Sheetz, which announced plans to open its Romulus store at 33380 Wick Road earlier this year, joins the chain of companies that includes Taylor stores at 8200 Telegraph Road and 20623 Eureka Road.
True to store tradition, Sheetz stores serve sandwiches and salads ordered via touchscreen ordering terminals.
They are also a gas station.
All Sheetz combination stores are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
According to management, the plans are based on the company’s commitment to the communities in which it operates.
They said each branch becomes part of the community by providing financial support and weekly food donations to local food banks, supporting local Special Olympics chapters with financial assistance, volunteering at events, helping families in need during the holidays and more.
As part of its commitment to the community, Sheetz will donate $10,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Michigan to support the organization’s mission to build and foster mentoring relationships that nurture the strength and potential of area youth.
In addition, the company plans to donate $10,000 to the club to support the organization’s goal of creating safe spaces for local youth to learn and have fun, while giving them the economic, cultural and social capital they need to prepare for careers, business start-ups and home ownership.
Sheetz makes its presence known at all its locations.
The company was included in the current list of “Companies that Care” by Great Place to Work and PEOPLE Magazine.
For the third time in four years, Sheetz is the only convenience store chain on the list. The list recognizes the top companies in the U.S. that have succeeded in business while demonstrating exceptional respect and care for their employees and the community.
Based in Pennsylvania, Sheetz is considered one of the fastest growing family-owned convenience store chains with over 26,000 employees.
