Every year when fall approaches, I’m instantly transported back to my childhood days of shopping for school. I’ve been a shoe lover since I was a kid, and my favorite part of preparing for a new school year was undoubtedly finding the perfect pair of sneakers to wear to class. Even now, I can’t wait to pick out a new pair of sneakers to ring in the new season and capture that back-to-school feeling, no matter how old I am. This fall, I set out to break down all the sneaker trends 2024 has brought so far, and I think I’ve struck sneaker gold.

Camille Styles wears the sneaker trends for fall 2024

Adidas Sambas were undoubtedly the shoe of the year in 2023, conquering the feet of people of all ages. And while I still love my Sambas, I think we’re all ready for something more original in 2024. Spoiler alert: This year, there’s not just one it pair of sneakers – there are 10.

Whether you’re a diehard sneaker fanatic or just looking to refresh your fall wardrobe, our curated insights into the top sneaker trends of 2024 will ensure your feet are fashionably on point. Read on to discover our tested and approved must-have styles and trends shaping the sneaker landscape this fall.

Fit details: I’m actually a size 6, but I prefer my sneakers a little wider.

Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66

The Onitsuka Tiger brand is by far my favorite sneaker trend I noticed in 2024, and the Mexico 66 sneakers are on my short list of standout sneakers I bought this year. With their sleek shape and sporty design, these shoes make any outfit cooler. They’re comfortable and flattering on the feet, and they’ll remain my go-to sneakers come fall. Now I just have to decide which color to order next. (Pro tip: the sizes are unisex, so be sure to follow the size chart!)

Vince Oasis-W Sneakers

These Vince sneakers are a little more expensive, but the simple white and grey colorway means you get good value for money per wear—these shoes are guaranteed to go with everything. Definitely the classiest of the bunch, these sneakers are made from buttery soft leather with matching suede accents. Suitable for both casual and dressy occasions, they exude quiet luxury. Bonus points for the additional set of interchangeable laces, too.

New Balance® 327 women's sneakers

I just bought my second pair of New Balance 327s because I literally wore my first pair to the bone. These sneakers are the definition of athleisure shoes – I wear them with jeans, shorts, workout clothes, and everything in between. They’re comfortable enough to wear on a five-mile walk, but cute enough to wear to lunch. You’ll wear them constantly. Not to mention, the price can’t be beat.

Tretorn Rawlins Sneakers

The Tretorn Rawlins 2.0 sneakers in white, pink and orange perfectly capture the bold color block design that is dominating sneaker trends in 2024. Combining retro charm with modern flair, these sneakers feature a sleek silhouette and a mix of leather and canvas uppers. While shopping this week, I found this shade of orange in almost every store, so you can be sure that these will go perfectly with any new fall wardrobe purchases.

Rag & Bone – Retro Runner “Slim”

I’ve had my eye on these ’70s-inspired sneakers for months, and when they finally went on sale, I snapped them up. The slim silhouette offers a more sophisticated take on the chunky sneaker trend, and the blue and yellow color combination is as surprisingly wearable as it is fun. They exceed expectations in terms of comfort and will no doubt be a staple in my Fall 2024 wardrobe.

Autry Reelwind Sneaker

I always love a pop of red, and these Autry sneakers might be my favorite yet. Super sporty, yet sophisticated with suede details, these shoes are perfect for any fall outing. With its cushioned insole and sturdy construction, the Reelwind ticks both the boxes for style and substance. I’m also obsessed with the American flag in the logo, which gives the sneakers a fun, retro aesthetic. If bold red isn’t your thing, don’t worry—Autry has plenty of neutral colors available, too.

Veja Rio Branco Sneaker

You probably know the Campo sneakers from Veja, but let me also introduce you to their sportier, cooler sister, the Rio Branco sneakers. They capture the feel of your favorite vintage sneakers and I love that they can be paired with both jeans and sportswear. Plus, chocolate brown and lavender might be my new favorite color combination, inspiring all sorts of fall outfit ideas.

Dolce Vita – Dolen – sneakers

Denim on denim is one of my favorite evergreen trends, and these Dolce Vita denim knit sneakers are the perfect way to bring that trend to sneakers. With their unique knit body, these shoes almost mold to your feet, are blister-proof, and couldn’t be more comfortable. I also love that the thick sole gives me an extra inch or two in height, making my legs look long and lean. An excellent, budget-friendly alternative to the Chloé Nama sneakers.

Sam Edelman Isabel Sneakers

I was originally drawn to these sneakers because they reminded me a bit of the Loewe sneakers (which are high on my wishlist but way out of my budget), and when I saw them in person, I was not disappointed. These are purely casual sneakers and don’t have much cushioning, similar to Adidas Sambas, but they are still more than comfortable enough for everyday wear. I also feel like the butter yellow trend of Spring/Summer 2024 might translate into more mustard tones like these sneakers this fall!

Alohas Tb.240 Sneakers

The Alohas Tb.240 sneakers are an excellent eco-conscious alternative to Adidas Sambas. The white base is beautifully accented with green accents, offering a pop of color that is both tasteful and timeless. Showcasing Alohas’ commitment to sustainable fashion, these sneakers are made from responsibly sourced materials without compromising on style. It’s worth noting that the leather is a little stiff at first, but will loosen up after the first few wears.
