Simone Biles is not the only one in her family who is currently achieving great things.

Jonathan Owens recovered a blocked punt on Sunday afternoon to score a touchdown, the Chicago Bears’ first of the season. It is the second TD of Owens’ career; last year he scored a touchdown after a fumble recovery for the Green Bay Packers in their Thanksgiving Day game against the Detroit Lions.

Biles, who will marry Owens in April 2023, responded immediately. “My heart,” the seven-time Olympic champion wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

The touchdown was a big boost for the Bears, who otherwise didn’t look great in the highly anticipated debut of Caleb Williams. The No. 1 pick in this year’s NFL draft completed 8 of 14 passes for 54 yards in the first half against the Tennessee Titans, putting Chicago behind 17-3. Although Williams made a few nice throws in the first 30 minutes, he repeatedly threw too far over his receivers on third down.

That included a third-and-5 from the Tennessee 6 on Chicago’s final possession of the first half. The Bears had started the drive with great field position thanks to a 66-yard kickoff return by DeAndre Carter. But after a 13-yard pass to DJ Moore on the second play, Williams and the Bears faltered and ultimately had to settle for a 24-yard field goal by Cairo Santos.

But Owens gave Chicago some life early in the third quarter. Daniel Hardy blocked Ryan Stonehouse’s punt and Owens grabbed the ball at Tennessee’s 21-yard line and sprinted into the end zone to score, cutting Tennessee’s lead to 17-10.

Owens signed with the Bears in the offseason, and his support for Biles was a big theme at this year’s Hard Knocks. The team allowed Owens to miss part of training camp so he could go to Paris and watch Biles compete in the Olympics. He arrived in time to see Biles and the U.S. women win team gold, and was there two days later when she became only the third woman to win two Olympic all-around titles.

Biles also won gold on vault and silver on floor after Owens returned to Chicago, giving her a total of 11 Olympic medals.
