Simone Biles marks the start of the NFL season with a sweet message to her husband, Chicago Bears safety Jonathan Owens.

With just six days until the Bears’ game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, September 8, Biles, 27, shared a tribute to the NFL star on her Instagram stories, writing, “See you in a few weeks 🤍🤧.”

The gymnast posted the message alongside two Polaroid photos of her and her 29-year-old husband posing in front of a light blue wall.

He returned the love by sharing the post on his Instagram account and adding, “❤️🤞🏽.”

While it’s been nearly a month since Biles ended her historic run at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she won four medals and became the most successful U.S. gymnast in Olympic history, her schedule is set to pick up speed again with her participation in the Gold Over America Tour.

The tour, which is set to begin Monday, Sept. 16, in Oceanside, Calif., will feature Biles and a host of other gymnasts including Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles and Hezly Rivera, who will showcase “stunning athleticism and high-energy choreography with an inspiring message of hope, strength, resilience and determination,” according to the tour’s website.

Although the finish is scheduled for Sunday, November 3, Biles will be booked and busy during the first few weeks of the NFL season.

However, long-distance relationships are nothing new for her and her husband.

Last September, Biles shared in an interview with Hoda Kotb on Today Show that they “began a long-distance relationship less than a week after their May 2023 wedding in Cabo San Lucas” – their second wedding after the civil ceremony in April of this year – as Owens had signed with his former team, the Green Bay Packers.

“Right after Cabo, he went to Green Bay and signed, and two days later he was there, so it was different,” she said. “At least we’re both busy and focused on our respective sports. It’s been nice.”

As Owens told PEOPLE in July, he loves being each other’s biggest “cheerleader.”

“I like to look at it from an athlete’s perspective, because that’s the way to make it big in any sport: You have to be consistent and do the same thing consistently well every day,” he said. “You know what I mean? I love watching it and I love being out there and being a cheerleader.”
