SLC Airport will receive the American Express Centurion Lounge in 2025

SLC Airport will receive the American Express Centurion Lounge in 2025

Travelers and visitors to Utah have a new way to relax at the airport, and this time it’s not tied to an airline.

According to an airport press release, American Express will open its Centurion Lounge at Salt Lake City International Airport in 2025. The 16,000-square-foot lounge will feature an outdoor terrace, a full bar, a coffee bar and a dedicated “wellness room,” among other amenities for eligible American Express cardholders.

The lounge will be built in Hall B as part of Phase 4 of the airport’s redevelopment program.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Centurion Lounge to the new SLC International Airport,” said Bill Wyatt, the airport’s general manager, in the press release. “Guests will enjoy a welcoming atmosphere that invites them to relax and refresh during their journey. We are excited to partner with American Express to bring this unprecedented offering to life at SLC.”

The lounge will be the first at the airport that is not tied to a specific airline. Delta Air Lines already operates a Sky Club at the airport and plans to open a second one in Concourse B next year. United Airlines, meanwhile, also plans to open a lounge between the B gates.

The American Express lounge will feature local artwork and food from an award-winning chef, with a rotating selection of entrees, sides, salads, soups and desserts throughout the day, the press release said. The coffee bar will offer counter service with “rotating specialty coffees” from a local roaster.

Travelers also have the opportunity to relax between flights in the lounge in comfortable armchairs, café seating or quiet work areas.

“American Express has strong roots in the Salt Lake City community,” said Audrey Hendley, the company’s president of travel, in the press release. “Many of our colleagues and cardmembers live here, and it is a popular vacation destination for U.S. and international cardmembers. The new Centurion Lounge will give eligible cardmembers a taste of what this beautiful destination has to offer, providing first-class amenities for all types of travelers.”
