GAMBRILLS, MD – Snap Fitness is opening a new gym in Gambrills this fall.

The 24-hour facility is scheduled to open in mid- or late September.

The centre will cover 1050 square metres in the Crofton Station shopping centre and will offer personal trainers and group fitness classes.

“Construction has been moving along at lightning speed and we couldn’t be more excited about the results,” Snap Fitness said on Facebook on August 6. “Our dream gym is taking shape right before our eyes.”

Snap Fitness was founded in 2003 and now has more than 1,000 clubs worldwide.

This is the second Snap Fitness center in Anne Arundel County. The other is in Annapolis.

“We know you’re excited about when you can experience Snap Fitness Crofton,” the gym said. “We’ll be ready to announce our Founder Memberships sale and opening day soon.”

Snap Fitness will partially fill the void left by Giant Food, which moved across the street in January 2023.

There have been some changes at Crofton Station since Giant moved.

The former Giant space has now been divided into three retail locations. A Michaels craft store opened in one of the locations earlier this month. The Fresh Market grocery store will open in the other location by the end of the year.

A few doors down, Always Ice Cream will soon open in the former Philly Pretzel Factory. Legion Martial Arts will also be integrated into the shopping center.

There are no exact opening dates yet for The Fresh Market, Always Ice Cream or Legion Marshall Arts. They all plan to welcome their first customers in the fall.

Other new stores that have opened since Giant’s departure include Chase Bank, Nekter Juice Bar, Taichi Bubble Tea and Sugaring NYC.
