BAY VILLAGE, Ohio – Summer fun went downhill on Sunday (August 18) when the Bay Village Foundation and BAYarts hosted “Bark in the Park.”

The event was a fundraiser to support the maintenance of the new Bay Village Dog Kennel and BAYarts’ free community programs.

There was live music and food trucks, as well as a “dog parade” and many tents with information on topics such as pet rescue and care.

There were also raffle baskets for pets and crafts for children.

Many people crowded around the tent where free samples for cats and dogs were being distributed. The bags contained many small gifts and samples of pet food.

On such a sunny day, the crowds were high. Hundreds parked on the nearest BAYarts field and walked their pets (mostly very large animals) on the paths.

The Bay Village Foundation was also represented in its own tent and showed visitors its brochure about its activities in the city.

According to its website, the sole purpose of the Bay Village Foundation is to “give back, promote community events and spread charitable giving for future generations. Through the Foundation, residents and businesses are encouraged to continue the traditions that make Bay Village a special place to live, work and play.”

The high number of visitors to Bark in the Park is proof that Bay Village is indeed a special place (especially for pets).
