SoundCloud opens its own merch store

SoundCloud opens its own merch store

With the opening of a merch shop, SoundCloud offers artists a new way to connect with their listeners – and make money from their fan base.

The new SoundCloud Store will be a platform for artists to design and sell exclusive merchandise, a feature similar to Spotify’s in-app advertising for merchandise on an artist’s page.

The main advantage of the SoundCloud store is that there are no upfront costs for artists, making it particularly attractive for independent artists. Artists create their own designs, but all clothing is produced and shipped by SoundCloud itself. What makes the platform even more attractive is that SoundCloud does not receive a share of the profits from merch sales.

There are some restrictions on who can participate in the SoundCloud Store. Artists must be subscribed to SoundCloud’s Next Pro program, which costs $99 per year. It is also limited to artists in the US, Canada, and Europe, and the artist must own 100% of the rights to the merchandise.

The store will initially be made available to a select number of artists and currently features merchandise from Wiz Khalifa, Denzel Curry, Armani White and others. In addition to artist merchandise, SoundCloud has its own line of clothing and hats featuring its logo.
