South Florida restaurants with zero violations in last inspection

South Florida restaurants with zero violations in last inspection

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida. – Local 10 News would like to express its sincere thanks and appreciation to those locations that were found free of violations during the routine unannounced state inspection.

It’s not easy, so Local 10’s Jeff Weinsier visited a few places in his latest edition of Clean Plate.

Our first recipient is YOT Bar & Kitchen on New River, 2015 SW 20th Street in Fort Lauderdale, in the Safe Harbor Lauderdale Marine Center.

Their recent food safety inspection was flawless.

In fact, there has not been a single high priority violation during the last three inspections.

The cool, casual spot was once voted Fort Lauderdale’s best brunch and outdoor restaurant.

It’s even harder to score full marks at the restaurant because it’s right on the water. The secret?

“Really consistent,” says YOT chef Scott Francillon. “Taking everyone’s interests into account, doing things you don’t want to do and making sure everyone is on the same page.”

Our next stop was in Deerfield Beach.

There is a Five Guys at Hillsboro Square on the corner of Federal Highway and Hillsboro Boulevard.

Manager Sheree Brown has been there for a year and a half, but this location has a successful history.

“The last inspection had zero (violations),” Brown said. “The inspection before that had zero. The inspection before that in 2022 had zero. The inspection before that in 2021 had zero.”

Brown says she keeps her eyes open and makes sure everything is always as it should be.

“We have protocols that we follow every day,” she said. “It’s high standards and stuff like that. Every hour, every two hours, I go around.”

“Five Guys is very fortunate to have you working here, and we want to thank you for keeping the place clean for all of us,” Weinsier said. “Thank you very much.”

When a clean Five Guys isn’t enough, Local 10 News heads to the location in the Shops at Midtown Miami.

Shula and Leneka are the managers.

There has been no high priority violation at their site since 2022.

“It’s extremely hard,” they said. “You need a lot of patience every day. Teamwork and organization.”

“We would like to say thank you,” said Weinsier.

Whatever Five Guys does, it works.
