Southern 7 Health Department: Cottage Food License and Food Sales Training at the Metropolis and Massac County Farmers Market on Saturday – WMOK speaks with Miranda Adams of the Southern Seven Health Department

(WMOK) Metropolis, IL – Miranda Adams of Southern Seven Health recently joined WMOK for our Coffee Break program to educate food vendors and home cooks on S7HD guidelines.

Adams will give a public presentation in a question-and-answer discussion format at noon on Saturday, August 10, at Dorothy Miller Park in Metropolis, following the Metropolis and Massac County Farmers Market that day. Anyone interested in learning more about Cottage Food Licenses and other S7HD Food policies and courses can attend.

Adams told WMOK that she doesn’t want vendors at the market to worry about her presence, as her goal is to educate people and make them aware of the guidelines. She explained that enforcement of the guidelines – which she will talk about later in the presentation – will not be enforced at markets in her “jurisdiction” until the start of the 2025 farmers market season.

The learning session is free and the public is welcome to attend.
