My analysis
The Los Angeles Sparks were unlucky when they lost their No. 2 draft pick Cameron Brink to injury, resulting in a miserable 7-32 record and an eight-game losing streak heading into tonight’s game against the Minnesota Lynx.
However, the Sparks could win this game against the Lynx, assuming Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride sit out before the start of the WNBA playoffs.
The Lynx are an eight-man rotation team. They score 19 points a night off their bench, but they’ve been depleted by two players and the end of the Lynx bench isn’t seeing many minutes.
The Sparks’ defense is shaky, but removing 27 points and 11 rebounds from the Lynx’s lineup could be the luck Los Angeles is finally looking for. The Sparks have scored 81 points a night over the last 10 games, will have a full lineup, and can at least score against Minnesota.
I think the Sparks can win this game, but it’s hard to bet on a team that has lost nine of its last 10 games on the moneyline. Still, the Lynx, who are missing their two best players on both ends of the court, have a good chance of making the numbers tonight.
