Lassen Volcanic National Park is currently undergoing a phased reopening after being closed in 2024 due to a fire. Once the snow is cleared from the park’s main road, it will fully reopen. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this transition period.

Lassen Volcanic National Park is located in northeastern California. The park’s dominant feature is Lassen Peak, the world’s tallest volcano and the southernmost volcano in the Cascade Range. Lassen Volcanic National Park is one of the few areas in the world where all four types of volcanoes occur: volcanic cones, shield volcanoes, cinder cones, and stratovolcanoes.
