Bethesda has finally announced the release date for Starfield’s Shattered Space DLC, and it’s not far away.
As part of Opening Night Live, we get a new trailer that reveals that the first expansion to the space RPG will be released on September 30, just over a month from now.
The trailer offers a moody taste of what’s to come, showing several quick shots of a mysterious and gloomy planet with a base and a threat that, at least judging by the scream we hear, seems anything but friendly.
Here is the story teaser from Bethesda: “The home planet of House Va’ruun remains a mystery to the vast majority of citizens of the populated systems. This secretive faction is known primarily only for its dangerous reputation and violent history. When a distress signal from an abandoned space station leads you on a path to Va’ruun’kai, you begin to uncover the secrets surrounding the followers of the Great Serpent and ultimately decide the future of House Va’ruun.”
Bethesda rounds things off by saying that the RPG’s first story expansion takes us to a brand new, “completely hand-crafted location” to find out what House Va’ruun is all about.
Although Shattered Space is only a month away, there is some new content coming before then. A free vehicle update is coming tonight that includes the Rev-8 Buggy with new weapons, rocket engines, and jump boosters. We see the same buggy in the DLC trailer, so it could be useful for escaping from one threat or another.
