According to local radio station WPG, the gas station’s brand signs appear to have been torn down.

Previously, the gas station featured the ExxonMobile logo. However, the pylon sign with the prices and the national brand emblem above the gas station roof is now empty.

ExxonMobile may have removed the location from its website. The store’s webpage now displays a “page not found” error message.

The US Sun asked ExxonMobile for an update on the status of the gas station, but the company did not immediately respond.

The station is located near two major routes through the state.

Route 40 leads to hotels and casinos near Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Route 9, which also passes the station, is connected to the Garden State Parkway in the northernmost and southernmost parts of the road.

But the station, which is located in the crosshairs of the two major traffic arteries, recently came under criticism after the radio station reported on surprisingly high prices for premium gasoline.

Photos from the station suggest a gallon of gasoline was sold for $3.69, about $0.40 more than the current New Jersey state average, according to AAA.

According to GasBuddy, the average price at neighboring gas stations is about $3.20.

“Most expensive gas station in the USA” charges drivers $8.59 due to its location – and hangs a sign asking them not to complain

But the station’s premium gasoline price was reportedly $5.99 per gallon.

The national average price for premium gasoline is about $4.16.

Many cars, especially luxury vehicles, require premium gasoline.

Customers who fill their luxury cars with the wrong type of fuel often experience engine knocking and decreased performance.

Drivers have been complaining to GasBuddy for years about the high gasoline prices at gas stations.

In 2023, one driver called it “the most expensive gas in (Atlantic) County.”

Another driver claimed that the gas station might be charging “too high a price.”

The broadcaster did not immediately return US Sun’s call.

Motorists across the United States have protested against extremely high gasoline prices.

An X-User found a gas station with Prices over $8 per gallon for regular gasoline.

“I prefer to walk,” exclaimed one driver when he saw the prices.

However, the broadcaster left a long note explaining why prices had to remain high.
