The Bills will look to rebound from their Week 1 preseason loss when they face the Steelers on the road this Saturday.
The Steelers finished 10-7 last season. Now coach Mike Tomlin is entering his 18th season and Pittsburgh has two new quarterbacks. This new-look quarterback team has spiced up the Steelers. On March 15, Pittsburgh signed veteran quarterback Russell Wilson to a one-year contract.
A day later, the Steelers agreed to give Chicago a 2025 sixth-round pick that could become a fourth-round pick for Justin Fields.
After these, as they say, impulsive transfer decisions, Pittsburgh has the slimmest chance of winning the division this year, so that’s another winning streak to talk about in 2024. That includes this matchup with the Bills, especially after they lost that matchup in the first week of preseason.
On the other hand, times are changing in the Bills’ locker room: Stefon Diggs and Jordan Poyer are among a handful of veterans who are no longer on the roster after another disappointing playoff exit in 2023.
Although a lot of responsibility still rests on Allen’s shoulders, the offense could be redesigned in 2024. Last season, offensive coordinator Joe Brady relied more on James Cook in the running game toward the end of the season, and that may be the plan again given the lack of proven wide receivers on the roster.
