The Buffalo Bills (2-0) got off to a great start in the 2024 NFL season with a 34-28 win over the Arizona Cardinals, who gave them everything they needed on Sunday. For Buffalo, however, the season is just beginning, as they had to face the Miami Dolphins (1-1) in a classic duel between rivals from the AFC East in a short week.

Despite coming into Miami as slight underdogs, the Bills did well on Thursday night, beating the Dolphins 31-10, showing Buffalo’s absolute dominance over arguably their biggest rival in the division. Star quarterback Josh Allen did what the Bills needed him to do, which was keep the offense alive long enough for playmakers like running back James Cook to do their thing against a Miami team that lost its battle pretty quickly.

Despite linebacker Terrel Bernard suffering an injury that added to the Bills’ long list of problems, Buffalo’s defense pressed on and smothered the Dolphins’ passing attack, forcing three interceptions and many more incomplete passes. For a Bills team looking to make it back to the playoffs and have a chance at a Super Bowl, this is the start they needed to make those dreams come true this season.

And now, without further ado, the stock market report after the victory over the Dolphins on Thursday:

Add: RB James Cook

From the start of the game, Cook owned the night. Not only was he efficient on the ground, but he also made an impression in the passing game, scoring on a 17-yard pass and showing how good he was feeling in terms of performance and offensive work after a solid first week. It seemed like Cook’s dominance essentially stymied any comeback attempt by the Dolphins.

Share price dropped: WR Curtis Samuel

As has been mentioned many times in this segment on Bills Wire, when you win like Thursday night, it’s hard to find fault with any one player or any phase of the game. However, someone needs to be talked about, and this week it’s Samuel. While his lack of impact over the past two weeks could be attributed to how much the Bills run the football, there are still plenty of opportunities for Samuel to do something, and he just hasn’t made a memorable play yet.

Add: QB Josh Allen

Given Allen’s quality, he’s always a candidate for this list, especially given the workload that’s on his shoulders following the restructuring of the wide receiver group earlier this season. Thanks to running back James Cook’s big night, Allen didn’t have to do much other than make the necessary plays to keep the offense alive and give players like Cook the opportunity to make plays and take advantage of a Dolphins team that seemed to lose its fighting spirit early in this game.

Share price dropped: WR Keon Coleman

After an encouraging first week where he looked like he was going to be the primary wide receiver for Josh Allen, Coleman essentially took Thursday off because the offense was running so well overall. Granted, Allen didn’t look Coleman’s way as much on Thursday, and with Buffalo being predominantly run-heavy with a big lead, Coleman didn’t have much volume to work with either.

Stock Up: LB Von Miller

Miller didn’t have the most dominant night the Bills or any Buffalo defender has had this season, but what was encouraging about his value was the speed Miller showed when rushing the pass. Due to his recovery from his knee injury, Miller spent all of last season trying to get back into the swing of things, but Thursday showed that he still has some gas left in the tank and that the best is yet to come for him.

Stock up: CB Ja’Marcus Ingram

It would be silly to end this article without mentioning Ingram’s outstanding play on arguably the best night of his career to date. Ingram was incredibly good in coverage on Thursday, which is impressive enough considering Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle stayed out thanks to a solid Buffalo game plan, but Ingram made things impossible for Tua Tagovailoa and Co. by being an absolute ball chaser and even throwing an interception to the house to frustrate Miami’s offense.
