Total 41 Frontman Deryck Whibley denies that he joins LinkinPark.

As previously reported, fans began to speculate that Whibley would succeed the late Chester Bennington for a rumored LP reunion tour after the “Fat Lip” rockers hinted their frontman would make an announcement Wednesday morning, which coincided with the end of Linkin Park’s countdown, which began at 100 a.m. Saturday.

In addition, Whibley previously sang with Michael Shinoda on a popular live version of LP’s “Faint”, which has been viewed over 11 million times on YouTube.

As compelling as this evidence may be, Whibley has now released a statement on social media to “dispel some recent rumors.”

“It has been brought to my attention that many people think I might join a reunion band,” writes Whibley. “But I just want to say that contrary to popular belief, I will not be joining a reunion band. oasis…or Linkin Park. Or any other band.”

He adds: “I’m looking forward to seeing what these two great bands do in the future.”

Oasis, of course, announced on Tuesday morning that they would reunite for a series of shows in 2025, which the notoriously feuding Gallagher Brothers together for the first time since the band broke up in 2009.

What Whibley is actually announcing is that he has news about “tour and book,” presumably in relation to his upcoming memoir, A walking disasterWhibley recently scheduled four dates for a reading tour in October.

Meanwhile, Linkin Park’s countdown remains a mystery. In April Billboard reported that members Shinoda, Brad Delson And Dave “Phoenix” Farrell discussed reuniting for performances in 2025, adding that they were considering a female singer to replace Bennington, who died in 2017.
