Super Bowl champion suggests Travis Kelce wasn’t fully focused on football after last quiet game

Super Bowl champion suggests Travis Kelce wasn’t fully focused on football after last quiet game

Travis Kelce had almost no impact on the offense in the Kansas City Chiefs’ 22-17 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

It took two full quarters for Kelce to catch a pass. He finished the game with four catches on five attempts for 30 yards, but he failed to reach the end zone in the first three games of the season.

Rodney Harrison, a two-time Super Bowl winner and current analyst for NBC, made a stark admission about Kelce.

“He’s busy, he’s got a lot on his plate,” Harrison said. “You have to think about it, he’s doing a lot of different things in the media, he’s playing football, he’s got other things going on. There’s a lot going on. But when you’re in that situation, you have to focus on everything else, and you have to focus 100 percent on football, and that’s the main responsibility.”

“Guys that play against him, Jessie Bates did a great job against him tonight. He just doesn’t have the same speed anymore. He’s still a good player. I don’t think he’s a great, great player.”

Kelce’s behavior on the sidelines caused concern among Taylor Swift’s fans.

Patrick Mahomes noticed that Kelce seemed to be missing from the game plan.

“The respect they have for Travis is just unbelievable,” he said of other teams. “It’s well-deserved, but we call a lot of plays for Travis, and it’s like two or three people go to him. So, I mean, he gets it. I think that’s the great thing about him: He wants to impact the game, but at the end of the day, he wants to win.”

“I’m going to do my best to get the ball to him whenever he’s there, whenever he’s free. But I think the more Rashee (Rice) plays, the more we can run the football, the more we can get (Xavier) Worthy involved, that’s going to give Travis more room to play. I mean, people are putting a lot of emphasis on taking him away, and that gives other guys room to play.”
