Supermarket Together is a free co-op game that is popular on Steam

I don’t have much going on at the moment, but there is one accomplishment I am proud to share: I am the general manager of Nice Groceries, the newest supermarket where you can find everything you need for dinner, with specialties like unbanded rice, milk bricks, fruit yogurt and a whole range of sodas. What led me to such lavish returns? I discovered Supermarket togethera free game on Steam that is becoming increasingly popular.

“Grocery store simulator” doesn’t sound like a great sales pitch, but when I opened a store with my friends, we were all secretly excited. We divided up roles neatly: I proudly stocked the shelves, my buddy Matt ordered products, and we took turns having friends work the cash register.

The design of the game reminds me a lot of Deadly Company‘s, except that instead of having to worry about sharp falls, murderous cryptids or cursed masks, the worst thing we have to deal with is the horrific shoplifter. Fortunately, the game provides us with tools for an extremely effective loss prevention department: brooms. If someone tries any funny things, they’ll be surrounded and repeatedly shot down.

Lately, I’ve been craving a relaxed gaming experience that I can share with friends – something that’s easy to learn, flexible for collaboration, and doesn’t require too much brain power. While there are many great games to enjoy with friends, such as Stellaris, Helldivers 2or Sea of Thievessome of them are a bit too much work, especially when people are coming home from work at different times or someone has to take time off for family or one of the million other interruptions.

However, it seems that the chaos could be fuelled in Supermarket together; the game supports up to 16 players and the difficulty increases with the number of people in the lobby. There’s also a separate difficulty meter in case you want to play on a level where squads of broom-wielding shopkeepers roam the supermarket grounds looking for thieves to beat up.
