Pilatus, manufacturer of the PC-12 single-engine turboprop aircraft and the PC-24 super versatile jet, will build a factory-owned flagship for sales, design and services at the airport.

In 2022, more than 6,200 Pilatus flights were operated in the state of Florida alone, the company said.

The new customer center will initially employ more than 50 people who will be responsible for the sales, service, construction and delivery of Pilatus aircraft in the southeastern United States.

It will have 5,000 square metres of space for maintenance activities, the distribution of spare parts and the delivery of new aircraft, as well as 1,500 square metres of workshops, offices and administrative space.

The facility is scheduled to open by mid-2026.

Growth plans for Pilatus’ new site in Florida include the final assembly of aircraft for North and South America. In addition, up to 300 new employees could be hired.

This venture involves a significant investment of tens of millions of dollars in facility development that will result in the creation of over 300 skilled jobs, provide lucrative opportunities and have a significant economic impact,” he said.

The Pilatus facility complements Manatee Technical College’s plans to build an aircraft and engine training school on the airport site.
