Tampa General Hospital can’t stop winning.

The hospital’s latest notable achievement is the Forbes America’s Best Employers in the State Rankings – Tampa General is ranked in the top 50 of 100 companies in more than 20 industries in Florida. This is the fourth consecutive year Tampa General has been recognized as one of America’s Best Employers.

“The Tampa General team is incredibly proud of the care we provide as the region’s only university-affiliated academic health system,” said John CourisPresident and CEO of Tampa General Hospital.

“But we know that excellence comes from a supportive and inclusive work environment. That’s why we strive to foster a culture where individual perspectives, experiences and needs are not only recognized but celebrated, and everyone has access to the resources and opportunities they need to achieve excellence in their personal and professional lives.”

Tampa General ranked 42nd out of 100 companies on the list, cementing its reputation as the region’s top-ranked health care system on this year’s list.

What makes Tampa General different? Driven by its mission to heal, educate, innovate and care for everyone every day in Tampa Bay and beyond, Tampa General prioritizes investing in the academic health system’s 14,000 team members. By fostering a culture built on the principles of authentic leadership, Tampa General empowers its workforce to succeed.

This supportive environment, focused on meeting personal and professional needs, enables team members to deliver the highest quality care, ultimately improving patient outcomes and experiences as Tampa General strives to be one of the most innovative academic health systems in America.

Team members at Tampa General benefit from a competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including wellness programs, free mental health support, discounts and a variety of professional development programs.

Tampa General also credits its investment in its “Active“ leadership model that emphasizes authenticity, kindness, transparency, and vulnerability to achieve impressive results among team members.

This organization-wide commitment to the AKTiVe framework has increased both team member and physician engagement scores, putting Tampa General above national academic health system benchmarks for several years in a row. In addition, team member engagement surveys showed that team member trust in leadership has increased significantly year over year.

“This recognition by Forbes for the fourth consecutive year is a testament to our ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of support and belonging at Tampa General,” said Qualenta KivettExecutive Vice President and Chief People and Talent Officer.

The Forbes America’s Best-in-State Employer award follows Tampa General’s fifth Magnet award in a row from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program – a privilege that less than 2% of hospitals nationwide can boast.

In recent months, Tampa General has received several awards for its workplace and employee experience, including Newsweek’s “Greatest Workplaces for Women 2024,” Newsweek’s “Greatest Workplaces for Diversity 2024,” Becker’s Hospital Review’s “150 Top Places to Work in Healthcare,” and Forbes’ “America’s Best Large Employers 2024.”
