Tate McRae pushes the boundaries of taste in her new music video, seemingly showing herself completely naked, which triggers a strong reaction from her fans.
The MTV Video Music Award nominee, who made a splash on the red carpet at Monday’s awards ceremony, reveals all in her latest release, “It’s ok I’m ok.”
The video shows 21-year-old McRae, who is dating Kid Laroi, seemingly completely naked as she is arrested by two police officers in New York City.
While many fans praised the elaborate choreography and the song itself, others felt “uncomfortable” with the amount of skin the singer – who has a young fan base – showed.

“Anyone else feel uncomfortable with the nudity people have to display these days?” wrote one fan under the official YouTube video, followed by the comment, “It’s videos like this that ruin the song for me.”
“Sad women have to sexualize themselves so much to sing a song,” said another, with a third adding that the music video was “pretty much porn.”
“Why naked?” someone else asked simply, and a follow-up comment said, “It shows she has no talent because she’s trying to sell her body.”
However, many fans were thrilled by the song and the pictures.
“You should give this girl your 10. She’s the only pop girlie that gives us choreography, vocals and drama. She really is the total package. Her range is undeniable,” raved one enthusiastic fan.
“This choreography looks so difficult! She makes it seem easy,” another fan added.

Since its release early Friday morning, the video has been viewed more than 1.1 million times and is the fourth-ranking music video on YouTube.
In her Instagram stories, Tate shared a clip of the music video shown on a big screen in Times Square.

The singer and songwriter has been compared to Britney Spears by the media and her fans.
