Tavria United Forces: Russia uses ammunition containing toxic substances in southern Ukraine

According to UkrInform, Russian invaders in southern Ukraine use ammunition containing toxic substances on a daily basis, says the spokesman for the United Armed Forces of Tavria, Dmytro Lykhovyi.

Lykhovyi noted that drones are now used as frequently as artillery on the Tavria Front. However, artillery strikes use several types of ammunition per attack, while drones only drop one.

“Every day, the enemy uses ammunition containing toxic substances. Of the 536 pieces of ammunition dropped by drones yesterday, 11 contained toxic substances.” explained Lychowyi.

He explained that information about the use of chemical weapons is first passed on to the support forces that investigate the case. The data is then passed on to international organizations.

Previously, Ukraine had provided the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons with detailed evidence of Russia’s violations of the Chemical Weapons Convention during the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian war.

Most of these incidents involved gas grenades of the K-51 and RG-VO types, which accounted for 31% of the cases.
