Taylor Swift is firmly on Vice President Kamala Harris’ side in the 2024 presidential election, and Brittany Mahomes appears to be firmly on Donald Trump’s side. But it seems the women’s political choices will not affect their friendship in any way.
On Sunday, September 15, after the Kansas City Chiefs’ football game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Swift headed to the Mahomes’ house to celebrate Patrick Mahomes’ 29th birthday, which is officially on Tuesday. While the “Shake It Off” singer didn’t post any snaps from the party, it was Chris Jones’ girlfriend Sheawna Weathersby who revealed on her Instagram Story that Swift was in attendance. The women posed together in a photo booth, with the 34-year-old singer wearing red sunglasses and her signature lip color. It proves that things are going well between Swift and Brittany.

Behind the scenes, however, there appears to be a little PR going on. For the second year in a row, Swift wasn’t seated next to Brittany. Last season, the dynamic duo were inseparable, cheering on their men on the field. The women seem to be able to put aside their political differences, and at least one fan is praising them for their unity.
“This is why I like Taylor Swift’s statement the other day, regardless of why she said she was voting. She distanced herself from telling people who to vote, but she started the ‘do your own research’ trend. Her friendship with Brittany Mahomes could help build unity,” one account on X shared. The only person who really seemed to dislike Swift’s support of Kamala Harris is Donald Trump. He wrote the less than mature post on Truth Social on Sunday, September 15: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
His reactive post gave the Harris-Walz campaign ammunition to get creative with their response, “Trump’s Bad Week (Taylor’s Version),” using 28 of their songs in the message. “We’re pretty sure it’s safe to say Donald Trump’s week has made him bad,” the statement said via The Hollywood Reporter“Mr. Not Good at All has spent this week processing his emotions, whining about his champagne problems, and spending absolutely no time addressing the problems of the American people.”
So Swift will hold on to her friendship with Brittany despite the controversy, and Donald Trump will learn that he is no match for Kamala Harris’ social media team. But maybe, just maybe, Swift and Brittany will prove that there is a middle ground in a contentious political battle.
